OUR HISTORY

Keystone Bowling was first formed as a club sport at Keystone High School back in 2004.  Coach Kevin Minnich & his son Kyle (a student at KHS at that time) decided the timing was perfect to launch the program & they were right. The following year they competed in the North Shore Bowling Conference with Strikeout Lanes as our established home center.

In 2008, we had our first boy state qualifier in junior Tyler Minnich. In 2011, we had our first girl state qualifier in Alexis Sanislow.  In 2021, our girls team (McKayla Ortiz, Jessica Gerhardinger, Erin Yates, Ginny Reaser, Gabby Reaser, Irene Miller-Norton & Elizabeth Yates) became the first Keystone bowling team to make it to state.

In 2023, Coach Tom Moran started the Keystone Middle School program to be the feeder system to the high school teams.  In April of 2025, Ethan Leiby and Gavin Toothman won the Ohio State Doubles Championship in the 7th-8th grade boys division.

Over the years we have had numerous conference championships along with quite a few individual & team district qualifiers. The sport has really exploded around 50 student/athletes between 5th thru 12th grades signed up to participate this coming fall & winter seasons.
